The 2026 MWAGA Adaptive Open weekend will be held on September 11th-13th at Red Tail Golf Club in Lakewood, Illinois. Come join us on Friday September 11th for the annual Bud Sanders Memorial Golf Outing and then on September 12th & 13th MWAGA is hosting our 21st Adaptive Open.
Red Tail Golf Club has become the home of MWAGA.
All 6 of our trophies will soon be on display in the clubhouse pro shop.
The 18-hole course spans 6,820 yards of golf from the longest tees, offering a par of 72. With a course rating of 72.8 and a slope rating of 130 on Bent grass, Red Tail Golf Club provides a challenging yet enjoyable experience for golfers of all skill levels.

The entry fee for the MWAGA Adaptive Open is $150 per Adaptive player.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
The WR4GD Certification is a process that the game of golf uses to confirm that an individual has an impairment that severely affects their ability to play. There are three different types of passes an individual with a disability can apply for that can allow them to participate in different events. The WR4GD pass ensures that a qualified individual is eligible to participate in any adaptive golf event.

You must have a WR4GD pass and a World Handicap System Index before you can be OFFICIALLY registered. Any registrations without the access pass will not be considered. WR4GD passes can be obtain through European Disabled Golf Association (www.edgagolf.com). This is a WR4GD counting event. See the links above for more info.
FORMAT
The MWAGA Adaptive Open is a 36-hole Stroke Play GROSS only event. The Modified Rules of Golf for Players with Disabilities has been Adopted by the MWAGA Board of Trustees for this competition.
Each entry will be placed in their respective Sport Class (15 Classifications) and play his or her own ball.
FIELD
Striving for the goal of inclusivity, the MWAGA will accept entries equally across all Sport Classes amongst those who have registered before the registration deadline. Field will be limited to the first, but no more than 72 individuals who have a WR4GD pass, World Handicap Index and fall into one of the 15 Sport Classes.
CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHIES
Champions will be recognized in the Men's Open, Women's Open, Senior, Super-Senior and 9-Hole Divisions.
Champions and runner-up in both Women's and Mens Sport Classes will also be recognized.
TIES
Ties for the Men's Open, Women's Open, Senior, Super Senior overall champions and respective sports classes will be decided by using the USGA-recommended scorecard tie-breaking method using the lowest score on the hole with the 1-handicap designation (hole 5) then the lowest score on the hole with the 2-handicap designation (hole 11) and so forth until we have a winner.
INFORMATION & PAIRINGS
Both round will be a shotgun start on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday pairings for the MWAGA Adaptive Open will be made available on our Facebook page, posted on the MWAGA website and emailed to all registered players 1-2 days before the start of play on Saturday. Sunday pairings will be made and sent out after the completion of ply on Saturday.
PRACTICE ROUND
All entries will have the opportunity to play a practice round before play. Practice round tee times will need to be scheduled with Red Tail Golf Club. Players looking to set-up a practice round are to contact the course at (815) 477-0055 for availability. Cost for the practice round is NOT included in your registration fee.
Caddies
Caddies are permitted for this event but will not be provided by MWAGA or Red Tail Golf Club.
SOLORIDER & PARAMOBILE REQUEST
MWAGA cannot guarantee that we can provide you with a cart, but we will try our best to accommodate with our local partners. Please understand that the use of a normal wheelchair on the course is prohibited, only the use of an approved adaptive golf cart will be allowed at Red Tail Golf Club.
REFUND POLICY
Individuals who have submitted an entry for the MWAGA Adaptive Open and wish to withdraw for any reason MUST notify Bradley Schubert at [email protected]. No refund request will be honored within 7 days of the start of the event except for medical withdrawals or death in your immediate family.
